Culturally illiterate? You tell me.

I saw my third movie this year: Batman Begins (no, I had not seen it before). Of the cast on screen, I recognized exactly one actor: Morgan Freeman. So, for my entertainment (and possibly yours), I list the places, if any, I have seen or heard the other first-billed actors.

Christian Bale: A Midsummer Night's Dream, Henry V. Voice actor: Howl's Moving Castle.

Michael Caine: The Italian Job (original).

Liam Neeson: Star Wars ep. 1, Schindler's List, Krull.

Katie Holmes: [nothing]

Gary Oldman: [nothing]

Cillian Murphy: [nothing]

Tom Wilkinson: The Full Monty.

Rutger Hauer: Blade Runner.

Ken Watanabe: Tampopo.

Mark Boone, Jr.: [nothing]

Linus Roache: [nothing]

Morgan Freeman: Amistad, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

Again, note that the only one I recognized on sight was Morgan Freeman. Once I had names, the only one I could associate with any movie was Rutger Hauer. (No, I did not recall which movies I had seen Morgan Freeman in.)

EDIT: Turns out I have seen both versions of The Italian Job, so corrected the entry for Michael Caine.

I full-stop do not believe you've never seen Michael Caine in anything prior to Batman Begins. That verges on physically impossible: the man has been in 30% of all movies made since 1965.

The ones in his credit list that tripped me up, and the explanation behind each:

Austin Powers in Goldmember: I have only seen the first two Austin Powers movies, and had to verify which one this was. It's #3.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels: I remember seeing a trailer for this one, and thinking it might be fun, but on reading the plot summary realized I never actually saw it.

The Eagle Has Landed: Briefly confused this one with "Where Eagles Dare", which he was not in.

The Italian Job: Turns out I've seen both the remake and the original, so I will correct this. The bus scene I remember does not appear in the remake.

Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley in "Without a Clue". Not to be missed.
