How The Grinch Stole Christmas Vacation
Dec. 23rd, 2004 12:36 amHow The Grinch Stole Christmas Vacation, or, Response to Request to Ignore Vacation Letter. (Warning: PDF) This appears to be a legitimate court document submitted in a case. Note the buttering up of the judge, and "Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisel (On Brief) (pro hac vice[1] application not yet submitted)".
Thanks to
lizzielizzie for finding this.
[1] For those who do not speak legalese, admission "pro hac vice" is effectively a one-case-only law license granted, at the judge's discretion, to lawyers who are not otherwise licensed to practice in the jurisdiction where their case is being heard. It literally means "for this occasion" or "for this purpose".
