After thinking about it for a while, and reading up on the relative merits of surgery and immobilization, I changed my mind and opted for surgery*. I'm scheduled for Tuesday, 9/6, in the morning, at INOVA Fairfax. It's an outpatient procedure: I go in in the morning, get the surgery, and leave a few hours later.

* Never mind the unanimous response of "surgery, duh!" I got from everyone I talked to.

(Once more, with appropriate placement.)

That does seem like the best option. Good luck! Having been through surgery myself recently, I can honestly say that it's not that bad. :)

I'm glad you made that choice. I last had surgery 3 years ago, and other than spilling >1/3rd of my blood volume, it really wasn't that bad. *wry grin*

Do you still get Jello, or is that only for tonsils...? :)
