Comfort foods -- midwestern style

I've recently had a craving for one of my favorite foods from childhood: pickled bologna. Sad to say, I've had no luck finding it in the Boston area, or in the DC area when I was living there. So now that I'm visiting family in Michigan, I stopped by a local grocery and quickly found a small ring of pickled bologna.

It's still yummy, even though I haven't had the stuff in over 17 years.

My initial reaction was to make disgusted gagging noises (dear god my students act older than I do), but then it occured to me that I have an unhealthy love of pork pies and sausage rolls and devour them happily everytime I make it to England.

So clearly I'm in no position to talk.
