A somewhat late update
Mar. 25th, 2004 11:49 pmDivorce hearing take 2 happened Tuesday. There was a brief scare at the beginning: it turns out the mandatory financial disclosure statements are only good for 45 days after they're signed. Fortunately, the clerk had spare forms so I could fill out new ones and turn them in.
This time, the judge (a different judge) accepted our separation agreement and granted judgment of divorce. This starts the timer for the actual divorce to happen. On 4/22 (30 days after 3/23) a judgment nisi of divorce enters. This means that while we're technically divorced, it's really easy to undo the divorce. On 7/21 (90 days after 4/22, or 120 days after 3/23) the judgment nisi converts to an irrevocable judgment of divorce, which means that the only way to undo it is to get married again.
Whew.
