I suspect Thai customs might regard it as a munition, a biological agent, or a suspicious substance. (Fruitcake is, in fact, all three.) In any of those cases, they'd probably cart it off for destruction before it got to you...
I like the british version with a thin layer of apricot jam followed by a layer of rolled marzipan and a layer of rolled fondant. Yummy. The drunker the cake, the better. *grin*
